Welcome to our Bush Camp, where you are welcome to spend quiet time around a campfire.
Bush Camp Terms and Conditions - Not to be confused with our course terms and conditions
Bush Camp Booking Form - Not to be confused with our course booking form
You could also visit our course kitlist if that helps you to remember stuff

After you have completed your course, alcohol in moderation is allowed on the campsite, but please bear in mind the terms and conditions, and the fact that rowdy campfire gatherings are not what we are about. You must adhere to 'quiet policy' below

Once you have made your payment, a full package showing you where we are, a risk assessment, rules and regulations will be made available to you.
A bit about the bush camp- in a nutshell

We are open all year, but in the winter you must give us adequate notice, and talk to us directly before coming

At the moment, you can just come and camp with tarp/hammock/tent and a fire for £5.00 each 24 hrs plus an extra charge for firewood (we provide this so that deadwood remains for wildlife) It's £3.00 for kids.

It will soon be compulsory to attend a short introduction course as an introduction to the woodland and fire management.

We do not allow dogs.

There are basic 'bush' camping facilities, for example, compost toilets, and watering can showers.
Mains water is available on site

We would prefer you to bring smaller tents and form a grouping around a campfire, rather than have a huge family dome tent that involves locking you away from your surroundings, plus it may be difficult to enough flat space to pitch these. There are some trees to hang tarps from but each site is different and you will have to work out an arrangement to suit you. If you require some wooden poles for your tarp, please ask.

Tipis are available for hire, as are canoes and bikes.

11 to 7 am 'quiet time' to keep the site peaceful, and no loud music/radios at any time.
Even what you think may be quiet talking or chopping of wood after this time may annoy others,  so please start your campfires early...

The site is ideal for bushcraft camping, and secure with no public access. We are near Hay-on-Wye, just in Herefordshire, and can pick up from several railway stations and the river with your canoe!  Please consider leaving your car at home or lift sharing...

We ask that you bring your own projects to work on so that we can maintain the biodiversity and nature of the woodland.

There are walks to nature reserves and the River Wye, and the hills of Wales are close by.

Bookings are essential.  Turning up without a booking will mean that you are turned away.

See you soon!
